Dilution Control

Adding Ice vs. Water

Take control of your dram. Most people don't realize that adding ice to your whiskey actually inhibits its flavors. Ice makes the temperature of the whiskey drop rapidly, causing the whiskey to taste dull and flat. Only when the whiskey gets back up to room temperature will its tastes and aromas start to open up again.

Water on the other hand can open different and new subtle flavors in your whiskey; especially with cask strength whiskies that have higher alcohol levels. By adding just a few drops of water to your dram will mellow the "burn" you get from the higher ABV whiskies, which will allow the flavors to become more recognizable.

Take control of your dram by adding in Whiskey stones accompanied by our authentic Scottish whiskey water dropper.
